Bruce Macfarlane

Bruce MacFarlane has been an advisor to IA Capital since 2005. He has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry as a mergers and acquisitions specialist and a senior advisor to financial services companies worldwide. Bruce is a Managing Partner at both Venturion Capital, a private equity fund founded in 1998, and GPO Capital, a private equity fund founded in 2007. He was also a founder of Aquiline Holdings, a private equity firm focused in the financial services area founded in 2005. From 1992-1997, Bruce ran Smith Barney’s financial services mergers and acquisitions practice. Prior to Smith Barney, Bruce served as the Director of Financial Institutions and Senior Advisor to the President for the Cabinet- level RTC Oversight Board. Prior to serving on the RTC Oversight Board, he was a senior manager for both the Strategic Services Division of Andersen Consulting and for Oliver, Wyman & Company. Bruce currently serves as the Chairman of Ceannate Corp., Patientech LLC (a health and wellness technology company) and Meridian Development Partners (a real estate development firm). He earned his A.B. with Honors in Chemistry from Harvard College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
